Observations: This is no Altalena

Although more than fifty years have passed since the
distressing Altalena affair when Jews killed fellow Jews on
the boat called "Altalena," the subject refuses to disappear
from the news.

Bizoyon Hatorah on Chol Hamoed Succos

Ignoring the pure Torah outlook as expressed by the
gedolim, senior Shas politicians went ahead with a
ceremony at the Kosel Plaza meant to recall the mitzvah of
hakhel that is mandated by the Torah in other times.
Figures from the secular political arena were honored, trying
to give secular culture a spiritual, Jewish status.
